Asian Publishing honour for CyberMedia’s BioSpectrum

Bangalore, Aug 27, 2008: BioSpectrum Asia, the life sciences publication from the CyberMedia group, won the Asian Publishing Award 2008 under the ‘innovative business model’ category.

The award was presented by the Mr. Ho Kwon Ping, the chairman of Singapore-based MediaCorp, to Mr. Narayanan Suresh, Group Editor, BioSpectrum Asia during the Asian Publishing Convention held at Singapore last week.

Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Chairman of CyberMedia, publisher of BioSpectrum Asia said, “BioSpectrum Asia won the award for its innovating and path-breaking business model that helped it scale new benchmarks and become a sustainable venture within two years.”

The Asian Publishing Awards 2008 received 203 entries from 79 publishing companies in 22 countries.

BioSpectrum Asia won the excellence award for developing business models that exploit multimedia opportunities while understanding the role of content and changing consumer preferences.

BioSpectrum Asia was launched from Singapore in March 2006. It covers life sciences news from countries in Asia-Pacific and is delivered in multiple formats--- a monthly print magazine, a fortnightly digital magazine, daily electronic newsletter and website. It has achieved new benchmarks in terms of readers, page views and visitors.
